All Things Felting

Kari Lorenson

Spring is here! Knotwe Labs is obsessed on all things felting. There are a myriad of amazing felting projects being made all around the world from the traditional to innovative ways felting techniques continue to evolve. Knotwe is dedicating April to all things felting.

As Knotwe Labs prepares for the first tutorial series, where are we looking for ideas and innovation???  We will be reviewing the recently published, Felt Fabric Designs: A Sourcebook for Feltmakers by Sheila Smith published by Batsford in 2013. Smith is the former Chair of the International Feltmaker's Association and has written extensively on the art of felting.

Also, a text that has proven to be very insightful, easy to follow with excellent step-by-step  images, and a great starter manual for anyone interested in learning about how to get started with felting whether is is wet felting, needle felting, Nuno felting, or felting with a hand sander.....The Complete Photo Guide to Felting by Ruth Lanepublished by Creative Publishing International is a must have text for your fibers library.

Keep an eye out under the Review tab for  Knotwe's review.

Knotwe considers this book a classic. A necessary addition to any fiber library.
